History of Beylikduzu
First of all, The old name of Beylikduzu is “Gardan” which means garden. This province consisted of Çatalca, Silivri and Büyükçekmece counties. This province is not a subdivision of Büyükçekmece district but has 19 villages. Anarşa (Gürpınar), Gardan (Kavaklı), Tırakatya (Yakuplu) and Karvan, which make up the present Beylikduzu District, are among these villages.
With the decision published in the Official Gazette dated 22 March 2008 and numbered 26824, Beylikduzu became a district. “Yakuplu became Beylikduzu District by abolishing the legal entities of Gürpınar First Tier Municipalities and joining Beylikduzu Municipality.
