House Sales Statistics, August 2022 – 123 thousand 491 houses were sold in Türkiye
In Türkiye, house sales decreased by 12.7% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 123 thousand 491. İstanbul had the highest share with 15.0% and 18 thousand 485 house sales. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 9 thousand 736 house sales and İzmir with 6 thousand 395 house sales with the share of 7.9% and 5.2% respectively. The provinces with the lowest number of sales were Hakkari with 41, Ardahan with 63 and Bayburt with 101 house sales.

Houses sales increased by 17.7% in January-August 2022
In January-August period, house sales increased by 17.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 943 thousand 791.
Mortgaged house sales became 22 thousand 168
In Türkiye, mortgaged house sales decreased by 19.0% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 22 thousand 168. Mortgaged house sales had 18.0% share of all house sales. In January-August period, mortgaged house sales increased by 39.1% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 211 thousand 631.
6 thousand 654 of mortgaged house sales in August and 55 thousand 348 of mortgaged house sales in January-August period were first hand sales.
Other house sales became 101 thousand 323
In Türkiye, other house sales decreased by 11.1% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 101 thousand 323. Other house sales had 82.0% share of all house sales. In January-August period, other house sales increased by 12.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 732 thousand 160.
39 thousand 25 houses were sold for the first time
In Türkiye, first time house sales decreased by 8.5% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 39 thousand 25. First time sales had 31.6% share of all house sales in Türkiye. In January-August period, first time house sales increased by 13.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 276 thousand 164.
Second hand house sales became 84 thousand 466
In Türkiye, second hand house sales decreased by 14.5% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 84 thousand 466. Second hand sales had 68.4% share of all house sales in Türkiye. In January-August period, second hand house sales increased by 19.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 667 thousand 627.
In August, 5 thousand 273 houses were sold to foreigners
In January-August period, house sales to foreigners increased by 44.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 44 thousand 595.
House sales were mostly made to Russia citizens according to nationalities
In August, Russia citizens bought a thousand 238 houses from Türkiye. The followers of Russia citizens were Iran citizens with 633 house sales and Iraq citizens with 417 house sales.
